Solar Lights are probably the easiest and most inexpensive way to light your yard, pathway, garden, pond, or swimming pool. Solar powered lights are generally inexpensive, but the biggest advantage is that you don't have to run any electrical wiring for them. As long as the solar panel gets direct sunlight, you can install most solar lights in about 15 seconds or less.
Solar lights store the sun's energy during the day and release that stored energy at night. Solar-powered lights are a perfect match for most situations. Solar Lighting does not require any wiring, so you will not have to tear up any of your gardens, lawns, or landscaping. Because of the increasing popularity of solar lighting for accent and security, there is a larger variety of designs and styles available.
The older styles and types of solar lighting were dim and not particularly appealing. Solar Lighting has come a long way, though. There is a surprising amount of light output, styles, and features available with the newer solar lighting. The dim incandescent bulbs used in older models of solar lighting have been replaced with high-tech, bright LED (light-emitting diode), fluorescent, and halogen bulbs. Solar-powered lights that use LED bulbs are the most efficient and provide the most hours of light when active at night. While you will not be able to read by a solar powered light, you can get up to ten hours of ambient light, particularly after a sunny day. LEDs are also the most popular and most effective bulbs for accent lighting and marking pathways.
