The canopy can be lowered when not in use to keep the sand clean and free of pesky critters. The canopy can be raised or lowered with the easy crank handle and safety bolt lock to secure it in place. The Maxi Sandbox kit is made from PEFC certified spruce and pine wood and treated with a waterbased child safe stain. Over 1,000,000 units have been sold throughout Europe in the last 15 years! Please note that this sandbox kit comes with an open bottom for hygiene reasons, customers can add their own thick plastic from a local hardware store that can be stapled to the side walls if desired.
