do you automatically associate it with warm and\u00a0sunny outdoor excursions to the park or the beach?\u00a0 If we open our minds a bit, though, we can quite easily visualize picnics\u00a0happening\u00a0anywhere, at any time of year.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Picnics don&#8217;t have to take place out of doors.\u00a0\u00a0A picnic meal can be set up on the living room floor, at the office, or in the treehouse out back.\u00a0 All it takes is a little imagination and a bit of whimsy.\u00a0 What really\u00a0makes a picnic a picnic is a thoughtfully packed snack or meal, a blanket for sitting on, and good company.\u00a0 It doesn&#8217;t require sun, warmth, or outdoors if those three ingredients are not available.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Consider using a <a title=\"Picnic Baskets and Picnic Totes\" href=\"http:\/\/www.backyardcity.com\/tailgating\/PIC-Picnic-Basket-Sets.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Picnic Basket or Tote<\/a> that includes\u00a0cloth napkins and washable, shatter-proof\u00a0dishes and utensils.\u00a0 Not only do these picnic sets\u00a0give a picnic style, they make the experience environmentally friendly, too.\u00a0 Here are a few tips to ensure a\u00a0perfect picnic:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Packing a salad?\u00a0 Take your dressing along in a separate container and add it to your salad just before eating.\u00a0 Your lettuce and veggies will stay crisp and delicious.<\/li>\n<li>Avoid bringing foods\u00a0that need to be reheated if you won&#8217;t have access to a microwave or other cooking device.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align:left;\">Hard cheeses, fruits, hummus, crusty bread, and chopped veggies like broccoli, carrots, and cucumbers make excellent picnic fare.\u00a0 They&#8217;re healthy and don&#8217;t require refrigeration if they&#8217;ll be consumed that day.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When you think of the word &#8220;picnic,&#8221;
