Starlight Lanterns Comet is a fabulous fixture. The base is punctured metal and is illuminated by a string of mini lights. It is completely electric! The plastic globe has UV additive to keep the plastic from becoming yellow and brittle. The texture on the inside of the globe creates a swirling effect from the mini lights that are inside. The prism globe is attached to the top of the base with a brace. The Comet has a removable stake at the bottom, so that with the stake the Comet can be used on soft grassy surfaces or the Comet can be used without the stake on hard surfaces like a deck or patio. As you move around the Comet, the lights appear to twinkle as they shine through the punctured metal base. The metal is powder coated to resist rust and the globe can withstand extreme temperature ranges from 194 degrees to -4 degrees F. Unique alone or used in a pair on either side of a doorway.
