The heavy duty 70lb base is designed for free standing patio and market umbrellas and does not have to be used with a patio table. The 70lb base has a 28 inch diameter, 2.5 inch neck (inside diameter), and 21 inch neck length with tensioning screws to secure your umbrella. We also stock the same style of base in a 35lb version, which is meant for use with a patio table.
