Aluminum is used primarily with glass or polycarbonate in hobby greenhouses. It can be anodized in a variety of colors (Juliana has a green kit) and it has low maintenance requirements.
Aluminum is not as strong as steel frames so the kits normally have more pieces to ensure the same quality strength.
